Having watched The Name of the Doctor, I think what it tried to do, it did well.
It’s what it forgot that annoyed me.

Likely it is either an older version of 8, or a ‘forgotten/hidden’ doctor between 8 & 9, making 9 actually 10, 10 actually 11 and so on. Rumors have been spreading about this for the past couple weeks and just got some major confirmation tonight.
